Stop 1
Our immersive tour through the center of Braga is an opportunity to explore the rich culture and flavors of this historic city. Arco da Porta Nova is one of the entrances to the historic center of the city and is located in Largo da Porta Nova. In its origins it was one of the medieval gates of the wall that defended the population. It is from this point that the meeting point will be made and our tour of the city center will begin.

Stop 2
Located in the heart of the historic center of the city, Sé de Braga is the oldest cathedral in the country. It is also one of the most emblematic religious buildings in the Iberian Peninsula. Inspired by the Romanesque architecture of the Abbey of Cluny, in Burgundy, the cathedral was consecrated in 1089, when the work was not yet completed. During the following centuries, the Cathedral of Braga was modified and expanded several times, which explains why the building is an architectural patchwork.

Jardim de Santa Bárbara is one of the most visited public gardens in Braga. It is known for its geometry and its colors that come from the flowers that are planted in it. It is nicknamed Jardim de Santa Bárbara since in the center there is a fountain from the 17th century, which at the top of the fountain is represented by Santa Bárbara. It's a kind of refuge or city oasis that invites us to take a break, read a good book or share a meal with friends.

The fountain is located in the center of Largo da Arcada and has a large dimension and projects the water to a great height and when it is illuminated, we can observe it from great distances. In the vast majority of Portuguese cities, the noblest or most central area of the city is located in the “downtown”. This is not the case in Braga. In Braga, it is in Arcada that every morning, the oldest and most experienced inhabitants gather to socialize and comment on current news.
