While the museum offers scheduled exhibitions, it is also a fascinating representation of the work of Shigeru Ban, one of Japan’s most celebrated architects and the man responsible for the design of this remarkable place. It awarded the Prix Versailles by UNESCO as the “World’s Most Beautiful Museum”! The facilities include a spacious main building and colorful box-like waterfront galleries that can be moved depending on the exhibitions—which include both traditional Japanese crafts and contemporary works.
