Itinerary

Our licensed local tour guide holding a small blue flag will meet you 20 meters from Budapest Eye on Elisabeth Square. He will introduce you the tour that combines history, architecture, public art, society, food, basic Hungarian language and what Hungarians are actually like. Your guide will show on the map and list all those iconic Budapest landmarks and off the beaten track backstreets that are scheduled in the tour.

Stop 2
You will learn about the largest church in Budapest -seating 8500 people-, about its architecture that is much like Budapest itself, marked by different periods of splendor. You will also see beautiful houses at this pedestrianized space and much more. This tour does not enter the Basilica.

Public art about fat policemen with shiny belly. You will learn about the Hungarian culinary art, the history of cooking, what to eat in Budapest and how to avoid the tourist traps.

You will learn about the most Hungarian Habsburg and will see the world’s most prestigious hand-painted porcelains called Herendi and beautifully glazed colorful ceramic masterpieces called Zsolnay.

This great park area for people watching is located at the end of the famous pedestrian street Vaci utca. This is where the second oldest underground in the world has built one of its terminals. We introduce you to neo-classical-style buildings the posh Gerbaud café and tell you what Hungarians are like. You will also learn about the Christmas markets and traditions in Budapest.

We show you the first non-Communist statue in Budapest, the most panoramic tramline in Central Europe, the main riverside buildings, the wonderful view of the Castle Hill including Matthias Church, Fisherman’s Bastion, Buda Castle, and Gellert Hill with Citadel. Majority of the above sights are listed on UNESCO World' s Heritage List of Sights.

We stopping here for making a secret wish while touching the shiny knees of the Little Princess Statue.

This is the place where Franz Joseph’s and Sissy's coronation banquette was held in the XIX century and where the most outstanding Central European musicians like Franz Liszt, Debussy and Brahms were playing.

We have a short stop here to learn about the history of Pest and Buda told through the story of the Chain Bridge the first permanent bridge built in the city.

These 60 pairs of shoes were placed on the stretch of the riverside to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Holocaust. We speak about WWII history, the deportations, and the recent history of the Hungarian Jewish people. We ask you to close your eyes and imagine those individuals who died here from synagouge goers to assimilated Jewish people, from dignified grandmothers to blonde and brunette grandchildren, from factory workers to factory owners.

You will learn about our recent history, elections and we also speak about the neo-gothic architecture of this harmonically beautiful building. This is the final stop of our walking tour, we provide you with useful recommendations about restaurants, nightlife or what to do on your next days and there is a final orientation as well.

We’ll meet about 15 meters from the Budapest Eye Ferris Wheel cashier, right next to the Danubius Fountain—the one with the muscular six-pack figure on top and three ladies around the sides. The area can get quite busy, so to make us easy to spot, your tour guide will be holding a small blue flag.
