Santo Domingo off the beaten track
Overview
Get to know a totally different side of the hustling capital city. Immerse yourself in the local daily life and see how the less privileged population lives. You visit a non-profit foundation specialized in education and nutrition of socially disadvantaged children as well as elderly people, which is located along the west bank of the most important river in town, Rio Ozama. Take part in a preschool class and after on have a walk through the neighborhood and see 4 small lakes fed by natural springs so called Pozos. Feel free to stop at one of the colmados right at the street to get a refreshing drink (on surcharge). Later on soar above the bustling city, crossing the river from an altitude in a cable car and experience the city from a whole new perspective. You joining this tour automatically contributes in improving local living circumstances as a quarter of the excursion price benefits the foundation! Be part of making a difference!
