Tour Description & Additional Info:

Choose from two flexible packages to enjoy this 8-hour private Shanghai tour, tailored to your preferences and needs: Option 1 includes a professional English-speaking guide and private driver, with all attraction tickets and meals paid on-site by yourself; Option 2 is all-inclusive, covering everything in Option 1 plus all tickets, a local lunch, and the Zhujiajiao boat ride.

Your tour starts with convenience: your guide and driver will pick you up directly from your downtown Shanghai hotel at your preferred time, ensuring a smooth and stress-free start to your day.

First stop: Zhujiajiao Ancient Town — a 45-60 minute scenic drive from downtown Shanghai. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights into the town’s 1,700-year history as one of the best-preserved water towns in the Yangtze River Delta, once a vital trading hub with timeless Jiangnan charm. Upon arrival, explore Zhujiajiao with your guide: wander the cobblestone North Street lined with traditional stone houses and local craft shops, admire the elegant Kezhi Garden (a classic Jiangnan garden with rockeries and ponds), and visit Chenghuangmiao (City God Temple) to feel the town’s ancient cultural vibe. You’ll also soak in the tranquil atmosphere of the winding waterways, lined with old bridges that have stood for centuries.

Boat Ride Details: If you choose Option 1 (Basic Package), you can decide whether to take a traditional wooden boat ride (pay on-site at your own will) — glide along the waterways to enjoy unobstructed views of the town’s waterfront architecture and local life. If you chooseOption 2 (All-Inclusive Package), the boat ride is included: drift past ancient houses, stone bridges, and locals going about their daily lives for a truly immersive water town experience. Lunch Arrangement: Lunch is not included in Option 1, but your guide will recommend authentic local restaurants (from traditional Jiangnan cuisine to casual snacks) where you can pay and enjoy a delicious meal at your own pace. Option 2 includes a local lunch at a recommended restaurant, letting you savor genuine Shanghai flavors without extra cost.

After lunch, on the short drive back to downtown Shanghai, you’ll work with your guide to choose 1-2 top city highlights to visit — all tailored to fit the 8-hour total tour time. Option 1: You can select any of Shanghai’s must-sees (tickets paid on-site). Option 2: We’ll include one major downtown attraction (choose from Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, or The Bund) plus a visit to Shanghai Tower, with all tickets covered. City Highlights Overview: - Yuyuan Garden: A famous classical Chinese garden with exquisite pavilions, ponds, and stone bridges, surrounded by a bustling market with local snacks and souvenirs.

- Jade Buddha Temple: A serene Buddhist temple housing two rare jade Buddha statues, offering a peaceful escape from the city’s bustle.

- The Bund: Shanghai’s iconic waterfront promenade, lined with historic Western-style buildings, offering stunning views of the Pudong skyline.

- Shanghai Tower: China’s tallest building (632 meters) and the world’s second-tallest; take the high-speed elevator to the observation deck for breathtaking 360° bird’s-eye views of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline and the Huangpu River. At the end of your 8-hour tour, your guide and driver will safely send you back to your downtown Shanghai hotel, wrapping up your perfect blend of ancient and modern Shanghai.
