The Curragh is perhaps the oldest and most extensive tract of semi-natural grassland in Europe, having existed as such for over two thousand years.
It is possible the only landscape of its kind in the world consisting of a mainly unenclosed flat to gentle rolling plain of 4,870 acres.
We will also pass the world famous Curragh racecourse.
Built around 1425, Bunratty Castle was the stronghold of the O'Brien Clan, High Kings of Munster and later Earls of Thomond who ruled the region. Bunratty was restored to its former glory in 1954. We will have a short stop here to take some photos and admire it's beauty!
The Cliffs of Moher are renowned for their rugged beauty, dramatic cliffsides, and diverse birdlife. They have been featured in numerous films and are a popular tourist destination, attracting over a million visitors each year. Enjoy the natural beauty at your own pace without any time restrictions.
The word “Burren” comes from an Irish word “Boíreann” meaning a rocky place. The Burren is internationally famous for its rocky landscape, unusual combination of flora, thousands of archaeological sites and unique farming traditions. We will stop here for some photos before continuing on our journey.
Dunguaire Castle was built in 1520 by the O'Hynes clan on the picturesque shores of Galway Bay. This restored 16th century tower house sits on a rocky outcrop on the shores of Galway Bay.
Sean's Bar is situated in the Heart of Ireland, halfway between Dublin and Galway, Sean’s Bar is officially recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as Ireland’s Oldest Pub. Sean’s Bar has a detailed and documented history right back to 900AD. Here we will have a chance to sample a pint of the black stuff! This is our final stop before we return to Dublin.
