Dark History Hawai‘i Tour - haunted stories

This unique experience takes guests through time, from the 1700's to present day as we navigate a dark story of Hawaii. We cover the days of Kamehameha the Great through our last reigning monarch (Queen Lili'uokalani). Also, annexation, statehood, and the modern day.

We flipped the touristic lu'au experience on its head by designing this session to be smaller and more intimate. We interweave live music (ukulele and guitar), along with artifacts that guests can touch, feel, and handle (e.g., books from my personal library, ancient weapons, hula percussion instruments, etc...). It opens a conversation about the past and present struggles of native Hawaiians, making this a philanthropic approach to raising awareness and strengthening cultural sensitivity.
