Overview

San Francisco is famous for its scenic beauty and cultural attractions, with iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge. A “must-do” while visiting the foggy city is biking the bridge into sunny Sausalito and taking the ferry back to Fisherman’s Wharf.

This guided tour takes about 3 hours, including various stops near essential attractions while our guides provide in-depth narration and stop for photo opportunities at famous sights and hidden gems throughout the tour. The tour begins at our Ghirardelli Square location right at Fisherman’s Wharf and takes you all along Fort Mason, Crissy Field, the Presidio, through the Golden Gate Bridge, and into Sausalito. This beautiful ride gives you stunning views of the bridge – and gives you an unique perspective riding through the Golden City.

Stop 1

Ghirardelli is the oldest continuously run chocolate factory in the U.S.

Stop 2

The pier was originally built in 1922 for car ferries that shuttled passengers back and forth between San Francisco and Marin County.

Stop 3

During the American Civil War, Fort Mason was designated a coastal defense site by the United States Military. It was named for military officer Richard Barnes Mason (1797 - 1850).

Stop 4

El Presidio and Mission Dolores (constructed at the same time) were the first institutions built in what would become San Francisco.

The Palace of Fine Arts, designed by Bernard Maybeck, was constructed for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition and then rebuilt between 1964 and 1974. It was designed to represent a dilapidated ancient Greek and Roman structure

This tour ends in Sausalito. You are free to keep the bikes for the rest of the day until the store's closing. From Sausalito, you can take the Blue and Gold ferry back to Fisherman's Wharf or ride your bike back across the bridge.
