Travel Time to Soweto: ~30 min Hector Pieterson Museum & Memorial (30 min) Powerful exhibits on the 1976 Soweto Uprising. Short walk to Vilakazi Street Vilakazi Street (Mandela House Museum & Tutu House) (30 min) Visit Mandela’s former home and see Tutu’s house. Optional: Quick lunch at a nearby Soweto eatery (e.g. Sakhumzi Restaurant or vuyos restaurant) Orlando Towers Photo stop at the colorful towers Baragwanath hospital Hostel and three classes of Soweto Apartheid Museum (2 hours) The most comprehensive museum on apartheid history. End your day here (closes at 5:00 PM).
