Arco da Porta Nova and Garden of Santa Bárbara Visit the Arco da Porta Nova, Braga’s ceremonial threshold into the historic centre, followed by the Garden of Santa Bárbara, one of the city’s most elegant public spaces.

Braga Cathedral — Sé de Braga If selected, visit Braga Cathedral, Portugal’s oldest cathedral and the spiritual and historical core of the city. Bom Jesus do Monte Funicular If selected and available, ascend by the historic Bom Jesus Funicular, opened in 1882 and celebrated as the world’s oldest water-powered funicular still in operation. Working as counterbalance of one another, both go up and downhill alternately and simultaneously along two parallel tracks over a course of 274 meters. Each booth has the capacity to 39 people, including the driver. This 19th century lift is the first to be built in the Iberian Peninsula. Optional (2 € p/person)
