The Church of the Good Shepherd was erected to the glory of God and as a tribute to the pioneers of the Mackenzie Country on the banks of Lake Takap among the natural beauty of the lake and the mountains. You will have opportunity to explore and photograph Tekapo Lake while you are here.

Lake Pukaki is the largest of three nearly parallel alpine lakes that run north-south along the northern edge of New Zealand's South Island's Mackenzie Basin. Lake Pukaki is one of the bluest lakes you'll ever see, with Aoraki/Mt Cook and the Southern Alps in the background. We come to a halt to snap some beautiful photos and simply admire the scenery.

From November to March, enjoy a stunning seasonal stop at NZ Alpine Lavender, one of the largest organic lavender farms in the Southern Hemisphere: Taste delicious lavender ice cream Shop for lavender oils, skincare, and wellness products Take Instagram-worthy photos in the purple lavender fields

Arrive at Mt Cook National Park, where you can enjoy a hearty meal at the Hermitage Hotel, followed by approx. 1.5 hours to explore. Choose from: The Tasman Glacier View Track (60 mins return) Optional scenic flights over Mt Cook and the Southern Alps

Tasman Glacier is New Zealand's largest glacier and one of many huge glaciers that flow south and east from the Southern Alps on New Zealand's South Island to the Mackenzie Basin. The hike requires intermediate fitness and takes around 60 minutes round trip. There are spectacular views of the Tasman Glacier, Terminal Lake, and icebergs.

Relax on your return journey to Christchurch, arriving by early evening.
