Overview

The Fushimi district is not about the famous "Fushimi Inari" and its thousand gates.
It is about learning more about one of the most significant moments in Japanese history and exploring an area in Kyoto that hasn't been conquered by international travelers and still keeps its authenticity and reflects an amazing local vibe just a few minutes away from Kyoto station.

Itinerary

Stop 1

Visit the number one landmark in Japan, Fushimi Inari Shrine. You will learn about the origin of the spirit of Inari, and discover a few hidden spots in that area that most people don't know about. We will still do our very best to give you the most amazing shot possible inside the gate path.

Stop 2

Visit the old Sake distillery of Gekkeikan and explore the Sake culture with the very first distillery to export Japanese alcohol overseas.

Stop 3

Walk by the Canal of Fushimi, an amazing spot to enjoy the outdoors, the cherry blossom, and the beauty of a very traditional district of Kyoto.

Stop 4

Listen to Your Guide telling you the story of one of the most important battles in Japanese history, that led to the beginning of the Meiji restoration.

Stop 5

Discover the story of Sakamoto Ryoma, one of the most important historical people in Japanese history, who nearly got assassinated in his room by the Shinsengumi, and could barely escape.

Stop 6

Explore the Ryoma Shopping Street, the equivalence of the "Nishiki Market", but which did not lose its authenticity and tradition, to make it a much more memorable Food, Drink, and Shopping experience in Kyoto. In this area, you will have free time to go for a late lunch and some shopping time.

Stop 7

We will enjoy traditional Japanese sweets, after the Sake distillery, and relax, before going back to the train for the last stop of the tour. This will be the perfect time to get a coffee.
