This small fishing hamlet is home to the famous Emerald Grotto (Grotta dello Smeraldo), a natural sea cave discovered in the 1930s, renowned for its extraordinary emerald-green glow. Sunlight filters through an underwater opening, illuminating the crystal-clear water and creating magical reflections on the cave’s stalactites. Inside, you’ll even find a submerged ceramic nativity scene, a unique and unexpected detail that adds to the grotto’s charm and mystique.
