Itinerary

1
Stop 1
After meeting in Dingle we take a scenic 15 minute drive to the 8th Century Oratory at Gallarus where we explore and capture this wonderful example of an ancient stone building.
2
Stop 2
The ruin of this 12th century Romanesque church is built on an earlier monastic site and has a unique standing stone with a “needle hole” and ogham script carved down the side. A few yards away is a large cross carved from stone. Close by is St. Brendan's House and also access to excellent views of this church in the rural landscape.
3
Stop 3
We head towards Slea Head, passing the deep water natural harbour at Ventry and amazing views of the ocean below as we approach our first stop at Slea Head.
4
Stop 4
As well as fabulous vistas and photos to capture from this stop, we have the option of strolling along the winding oceanside road for a few minutes to take in further views and more superb photo opportunities.
5
Stop 5
Coumeenoole Strand is a captivating location for photography or just kicking your shoes off and paddling along the water's edge. With fine views of the rugged coastline available from the beach at low tide or the path way down to the sands, this is many people's favourite location during the tour.
6
Stop 6
The iconic twisting path down to Dunquin Pier is the historical departure point for the settlers on the Great Blasket Island. These days it is used for the tripper boats visiting the island. Superb vistas are to be captured along the paths at the top of the cliff with the option of walking down the steep path to capture photos at lower vantage points.
7
Stop 7
Following single track lanes we arrive at an amazing rocky beach with access to a coastal path that provides wonderful views across the rugged shoreline, with the Blasket Islands in the background.
8
Stop 8
We stop at Clogher Head on our way to Clogher Strand to take in panoramic views of the western edge of the Dingle Peninsula. This wide open vista also looks across to the filming location of Star Wars during 2016. A few minutes away is the storm beach at Clogher. Depending on the state of the tide we can access this scenic beach, as well as capturing wonderful ocean landscapes from the viewing platform above the beach. This area also contains a number of secluded rocky beaches and rugged coves that we access with a short drive.
9
Stop 9
Towards the end of this tour, George will choose one of the stunning locations we've already visited to watch the sun go down, hopefully producing a memorable sunset and colourful dusk before we drive back to Dingle and the end of the tour.
