Delphi, the mythical oracle of ancient Greece and UNESCO World Heritage site, is set amidst a formidable mountain landscape, where old rural traditions and forgotten crafts are still alive!

Delphi was not one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. But when it came to status and importance, few sites were as powerful as Delphi, an easy two and a half hour road trip from Athens. For a thousand years, people rich and poor, kings and peasants from across the Mediterranean and Asia Minor, visited and venerated the sanctuary of Apollo. Its oracle was the spiritual centre of their world.

Itinerary

Stop 1

Your designated Private Driver will come pick you up from the destination of your preference while free water and snacks will accompany you through your trip. In about two and a half hours you will be in Delphi!

Stop 2

Delphi Archaeological Museum is one of the principal museums of Greece and one of the most visited. It is operated by the Greek Ministry of Culture (Ephorate of Antiquities of Phocis). Founded in 1903, it has been rearranged several times and houses the discoveries made at the Panhellenic sanctuary of Delphi, which date from the Late Helladic (Mycenean) period to the early Byzantine era.

Stop 3

The ancient Greeks considered Delphi the centre of the world. According to mythological tradition, Zeus released four eagles from the four corners of the Earth, which was believed to be flat, and they met at Delphi, which was henceforth known as the navel of the world, or omphalos. Delphi was an ancient religious sanctuary dedicated to the Greek god Apollo. Developed in the 8th century B.C., the sanctuary was home to the Oracle of Delphiand the priestess Pythia, who was famed throughout the ancient world for divining the future and was consulted before all major undertakings.

Stop 4

Arachova Village, located 968m above sea level. The picturesque village built on the southern slope of Mount Parnassos offers a spectacular view of the valley as well as several quaint shops and unique local architecture. your driver will drop you off at a traditional Greek tavern so that you can enjoy a delicious lunch.
