Itinerary

1
Stop 1
cabaret Moulin Rouge is the ultimate symbol of bohemian Montmartre. Toulouse-Lautrec did a lot of his painting work there. Dancers and clients both sat for him. A lot of his famous works depicts the cabarets of Montmartre.
2
Stop 2
Sacre Coeur is a world known Montmartre icon. It is a striking sight. All white and shiny, and with all of Paris lying at its feet (and yours)
3
Stop 3
place du tertre is often referred to as Artists' Square. Local artists sell their art there. Or you see them put the final touches to their paintings. You can also have your portrait drawn. Or your caricature, if you dare!
4
Stop 4
The locals of Montmartre have their own vineyards. And they are proud of it. The plot of land is small, but it is very scenic. Hard to find, but so worth it. The view is striking - with vines in the foreground, and the white sacré coeur church in the background.
5
Stop 5
where you find out that many locals hate their icon - Sacré coeur. and you find out why...
6
Stop 6
Dalida was a French pop singer. A pop icon really. Very kitchy. And very, very popular. And she remains popular today. And so does her bust. We will spend time with the bust of Dalida. You won't believe the stories!
7
Stop 7
In Paris houses are the colour of the material used. But Montmartre has a pink house. That house has a crazy history. one that involves Picasso. Renoir. Utrillo. and possibly Manet and Degas...
8
Stop 8
this art studio is yet another artistic landmark of Monmartre. Bateau-Lavoir is where Picasso became Picasso.
9
Stop 9
as a young man, Van Gogh moved here from Holland, to visit his brother. Rue Lepic is where Van Gogh found his calling as the artist of sunlight. A grand landmark for all lovers of art.
10
Stop 10
This windmill was painted by Renoir in 1876. That painting made Renoir famous. Or, rather, infamous. A key turning point in art history.
11
Stop 11
a highlight of Montmartre. this a very old farmouse, untouched, and picturesque. That farm house turned into the home of Renoir whilst he painted his famous "Bal du moulin de la galette" next door (now a highlight of the Orsay museum)
