Itinerary

Stop 1
The day begins with the journey to the Cajas National Park, where you can observe the natural beauty of its mountains, lakes, and forest quinoa. You could also visit the Garden of the Virgin of Cajas, famous for the apparitions of the Virgin Mary. It's a short walk along the Laguna La Toreadora. The visit to the bottom of the park called Llaviucu is ideal if you want to go to a place to observe birds and their performances.

Stop 2
Starting point of a 2.5-3 hour hike. During the trek, which descends from 3,900 to 3,600 meters above sea level, you'll traverse grassland landscapes, the magical Polylepis Forest of San Luis, and a series of enchanting lagoons: Unidas, Totoras, and Patoquinuas. The route combines beautiful scenery with explanations from the guide about the area's natural and cultural richness.

Stop 3
The Mirador Tres Cruces is located at the highest point where the Cuenca - Molleturo road passes (4150m), from this place you can have impressive views of the Cajas moors with their countless peaks and lagoons, and also of the slope of the mountain range that faces the coast and sometimes appears as a sea of white clouds.
