Macorix House of Rum is a historical museum dedicated to the Macorix rum family, founded in 1899 by the Carrión family in San Pedro de Macorís, a place known as the land of poets, artists, and sugar cane. 110 years later, Ron Macorix joined Vinícola del Norte in the port city of Puerto Plata, uniting two emblematic rum-producing towns in the Dominican Republic.

The most impressive cigar factory in the city, where you will have the opportunity to see how cigars are made and they will offer you some to smoke. The jewelry store is a beautiful and well-maintained place, with very professional staff.

The construction of this fortress was commissioned by King Philip II of Spain and was completed in 1577 by Rengifo de Angulo, the fort's warden. The fortress functioned as a prison on several occasions and the patrician Juan Pablo Duarte was held there as a political prisoner by order of Pedro Santana.

The Del Oro Chocolate Factory is well known for its chocolate production. Taking a tour of this factory is a must. The cultivation, processing, and export of raw cocoa and other cocoa products is a large part of their economy and they do it very well. Much of their chocolate is exported to the US and Europe.

Cosita Rica is a beach located on the Atlantic coast of the island, just 2.5 kilometers from downtown Puerto Plata. It features a long, straight shoreline with turquoise, crystal-clear waters and gleaming sand.
