The Caves down west side of Boavista are magnificent and a Must to explore, maybe you will find some treasures left by the pirates in the past. Povoação Velha is the oldest village in the island, stablished around 1620 by fishermen and agricultures. Nowadays Povoação Velha is facing the abandon of young people who migrate to the big city of Sal Rei for better life conditions.
