You’ll entertain all your group with interesting questions, while still teaching them fun facts about the city. This tour is ideal for families or travelers who want to explore the city of Graz at their own pace. Your mission (should you choose to accept it): Jackson Wilde, the famous city-explorer, needs your help….Help him solve quizzes to gather as many points as possible. With this self-guided tour, you will be guided through the 8 following locations: Landhaus, Herzogshof, Main Square, Carillon, Mausoleum of Ferdinand II, Cathedral, Double Spiral Staircase, and the Clock Tower.

Itinerary

Stop 1

The Landhaus was constructed in the mid-16th century, between 1557 and 1565, by Italian architect Domenico dell'Allio. At this stop, you'll learn about the history of this monument and solve quizzes in the Wanderway app.

The Hauptplatz dates back to the 12th century: it is one of the oldest and most historically important areas in Graz. The square is surrounded by beautiful historical buildings, and particularly the Rathaus (Town Hall). The carillon was installed in the Glockenspiel House in 1905. The building itself dates back to the 17th century and was built by merchant Melchior Steyrer. At this stop, you'll learn about the history of this monument and solve quizzes in the Wanderway app.

The mausoleum was commissioned by Emperor Ferdinand II, a member of the House of Habsburg, who reigned as Holy Roman Emperor from 1619 to 1637. It serves as his final resting place. At this stop, you'll learn about the history of this monument and solve quizzes in the Wanderway app.

Stop 5

The Graz Cathedral was built between 1438 and 1464, and commissioned by Emperor Frederick III. It was constructed on the site of an earlier Romanesque church. At this stop, you'll learn about the history of this monument and solve quizzes in the Wanderway app.
