Overview

Two days. Two completely different landscapes. One continuous private journey from Sydney's coastline to the heart of the nation.
Day 1 begins with breathtaking coastal vistas from Bald Hill Lookout over the Illawarra coastline, before continuing to Kiama to witness the raw power of the ocean at the famous blowhole. From the coast we climb the escarpment via Macquarie Pass into the Southern Highlands, arriving in Bowral for lunch before continuing south to Canberra.
Day 2 is yours to explore the capital at your own pace — the Australian War Memorial, Old Parliament House, Parliament House, the National Gallery, National Museum, and the National Arboretum are all on the table. Have a specific interest or venue in mind? As a fully private tour I'm happy to discuss alternatives within the Canberra region — just ask at the time of booking.

Itinerary

Stop 1

One of the most dramatic coastal viewpoints in NSW. From this clifftop vantage point you'll look out over the Illawarra coastline with the famous Sea Cliff Bridge curving out over the ocean below — a view that stops people mid-sentence.

Stop 2

One of Australia's most powerful natural blowholes, where the Southern Ocean forces seawater through a rock fissure with remarkable force. Timing and swell-dependent, but always worth the stop. The surrounding headland and rock pools are worth a wander.

Stop 3

The Southern Highlands' most refined town. Boutique streets, excellent cafes and restaurants, and a relaxed country atmosphere make Bowral the perfect lunch stop before continuing south to Canberra.

Stop 4

A quick stop and what a great introduction taking in views overlooking Canberra from Mount Ainslie. See how the layout was based around this mountain and the implications of the city's design.

Stop 5

Our 2nd optional stop is for art lovers visiting on of the largest art museums in Australia holding more than 150,000 works of art.

Stop 6

Adjacent to the art gallery is our national portrait gallery telling stories of Australia's most fascinating characters in portrait form, highly recommend for art lovers.

Stop 7

Optional stop: Learn the complex history of Australia through visual storytelling learning about Australian characters far and wide which really shaped who we are today as a nation.

Stop 8

Opened as part of our bicentennial year in 1988, this is a must see during your visit. also included as an optional stop.
