Our captain will give you a brief history of the Charlottetown Harbour - the "Cradle of Confederation" when Canada first became a country, the Mi'kmaq who first settled the province, as well as a bit about the Charlottetown Harbour itself.
The Isola Solaretto will pass silently by beautiful Victoria Park, where you can see the cannons & armaments of this historic fort.
You will see the entrance to Charlottetown Harbour and famous Port-la-Joye (Fort Amherst) at Rocky Point.
Here you will see the "Birthplace of Canada" where the colonies Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia & New Brunswick met for the first time in 1864 to determine that Canada would become a country.
Your captain will take you by several multi-million dollar houses, including a $15M home to show you some "rock armouring" for shoreline protection gone wrong. PEI is losing about 1 ft of shoreline every year and there is a right way & a wrong way to protect it.
