Visiting one of Gambia's Eco Forest in a beautiful settings. Explore the creek in a canoe (30 -40 mins) and roam the palm forest for 1 or 1 1/2 hrs with chances of wildlife sightings. On this Banjul City Tour we will be visiting some of the main attractions for people who are interested in history! During this tour we will visit the Arch 22, Gambia National Museum and the Albert Market which is named after Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert. We depart early around 06.00hrs and head to Banjul for our ferry crossing to Barra. We will be welcomed into the Fathala Nature Reserve currently 2000 acres of a natural environment which many African Wildlife have now made their home. On our 4 X 4 vehicle, we will be able to follow the animal tracks through the wilderness in search of some of the species that roam the area. In just 1 - 2hrs, it is possible to spot Giraffes, Rhinos, Giant Elands, Zebras , Antelopes, Warthogs, Buffaloes to mention only a few – How lucky you might be? Don’t forget your cameras – this may be your only chance to take some amazing pictures! Lunch in the wild and drinks are available to buy during the day at the park. An optional Lion Walk of about 30mins if available for those who dare to take part (paid locally). We depart early to explore both sides of the Gambia (north and south),we drive cross to the North Bank to visit the Wassu Stone Circles, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Drive to Kuntaur to board our boat to explore the River Gambia, a 2-3hrs relaxing cruise. Be on the lookout for Hippos, Crocodiles, Baboons, Monkeys, colourful birds and Chimpanzees. We will be cruising around River Gambia National Park (RGNP) before returning back to Kuntaur for our evening drive to Janjangbureh. (Please note; Chimpanzees are kept on islands and visitors are only allowed to sail around the islands) The next morning, we exploring the Island on foot and depart after lunch towards our hotel On the return journey, if it falls on a market day we would stop to visit a ‘Lumo’ (our weekly African open flea market) an opportunity to witness traditional bartering in this unique setting.Proceed to visit one of the local family compounds to learn about the traditional way of life
